We're getting our groove on...

Luckily for Kevin and I the last few months of pregnancy got us used to laying low on weekends and Friday nights especially. So much so, that taking Aidan for his first walk in the stroller last night was not only fun, it felt adventurous for me since I've mostly been inside for the last 10 days. I've trekked out, the Dr.'s visit, a quick trip the post office or the grocery store, but I haven't been able to walk very far so I have been wary of busting out the stroller by myself. We had a break from the monsoon season we've been enduring here in Vermont, so we put a mosquito netting around Aidan's car seat, strapped it on the stroller and took a walk down a country road last night. It was every bit as relaxing as it looks, and we're hoping to make it a nightly event. Aidan really liked the motion and even fell asleep for a little bit.
We came home and I promptly fell asleep too...Not the most flattering pic eh?

We are actually finding our rhythm, and figuring out how to be parents. I'm still astounded they send you home with a tiny human and no instruction manual but we are reading some books, and learning by trial and error. Last night was the second great night in a row where we actually got 6 hours of sleep! Not all at once mind you, but it counts all the same. Aidan is starting to figure out that days are for awake time and nights are for sleeping and his clock is adjusting. He is cluster feeding less than he was a few days ago which is nice for me and when is he feeding I must say he is a perfect latcher!!! Even the pediatrician commented on what a beautiful latcher he was, so I am very lucky that the breast feeding is coming along nicely. In about 3 weeks I plan to start pumping so Kevin can feed him bottles of breast milk, but our Dr. advises waiting until then to avoid nipple confusion and he seems to know what he's doing considering he's about 70 and has seen thousands of babies grow up, so I'm going to follow his advice.

Well we're going to enjoy the rest of the weekend and give Aidan his first bath! I'll be sure to post pics of that later on. Here a few more of us just hanging out having a lazy weekend!
