Totally Exhausted

Did somebody slip me an Ambien when I wasn't looking? I am more tired than Hillary Clinton's pant suits right now. If it wasn't for the constant kicking from this baby, I think I would be slumped over, face down on my desk. My co-workers are so nice, they'd probably just let me sleep. Not only am I exhausted but I am HOT. As in physically warm, burning up, sweating. It's not even hot in my building, in fact they have the air conditioning on, but I'm still sphitzing. Thankfully the very sweet handy man for the studio took pity on me and brought me a fan today and it is glorious. I feel bad because some of my co-workers are freezing and I have my fan on full blast, but I'm afraid I may melt if I turn it off!

It's been a busy and stressful week for Kevin and I. We were very close to purchasing a new car, but we've both been having second thoughts and we finally decided to wait until after this baby is born. We have been experiencing such a feeling of urgency to get things done and get ready, but we have to take a deep breathe, slow down, and wait and see what our needs are when this baby arrives. We may still get the car in the Fall, but honestly it is more than I care to deal with right now!

We interviewed a Pediatrician last night who we both adored. He is an older man who graduated from med school the year I was born, so I mean old-school. He definitely has a no nonsense attitude and approach, but I appreciate that type of honesty and we really liked him! Kevin and I went to the meeting with a ton of questions and he spent over an hour answering each one and really going into detail about his philosophies and experiences. He praised me for my thorough research and was impressed with how much I knew about him from my background check. I am nothing if not thorough and detail orientated, that's just how I roll! Even though we are likely to choose him as Baby Duggan's pediatrician, we are still interviewing another Dr. in a few weeks. This time it's a woman, who is young and fairly fresh out of Medical School. I am just curious to see how, if at all, her philosophies on infant care, immunizations, etc. differ from his.

We also had our second child birth class last night and it was much better than our first experience! We learned and practiced lots of different positions to labor in and talked through each stage of labor. I especially enjoyed it because massage is supposed to be a comfort measure in labor, so in each position Kevin had to massage my back...not a bad way to spend an evening!

It seems like the things to do are never ending, so today we went for our first tour of a day care for Baby Duggan when I return to work. This day care is one of the few in town that even has a spot open, and it's actually outside of town, halfway between our house and our offices so it's not exactly the most convenient location. However, we did like the people we met and know lots of parents whose children attend there and they are happy with the care, so that's reassuring. The babies were really cute and seemed to be having a great time. Thinking about dropping my baby off at day care makes me want to cry, so I can't think about it right now, but we have to make a decision soon to secure a spot in the fall.

Tonight I am skipping yoga and planning on going home to SLEEP. I am so exhausted and ready for Friday and the weekend! We haven't been home much, so we still don't have the sink and faucet installed, but here's the first sneak peak at the new counter tops.

We still have to get the back splash up and hook up the plumbing, but we're almost there! Once it's all finished I'll post more pics.
