Kevin had a great day off yesterday and got so much done, I was very impressed! I'll have to take some photos, but the new counter tops are installed and look amazing. We still have to get the sink and new faucet in, but the hard part is over and soon our kitchen will be functioning again.
Kevin also did some major yard work yesterday by digging up and splitting our day lilies. In this picture from last Spring you can see how big the Lily plants got
(They are the giant giant green things!) They are beautiful when they flower...
but last year they got so huge that we could barely walk down that pathway pictured above! Kevin moved a lot of them and cleaned them up so that when they bloom we can push the stroller down the pathway this summer without the baby getting slapped in the face by giant flowers!Tonight we are leaving work a little early for our first Pediatrician consultation. I've compiled a list of questions and they're pretty thorough. I'm sure he is used to meeting first time parents who come in armed with a zillion questions, but I'm still a little nervous. We received lots of good feedback on this Dr. from co-workers and friends so I hope we like him! It would be nice to check this off the long to-do list. Afterwards we have our second childbirth class where we'll be covering stages 1 and 2 of labor and Kevin's role as my support person. It should be an interesting evening!
Here's the 31 Week update, enjoy!
31 Weeks:
This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
