Today is our two year wedding anniversary! Kevin and I started dating in November of 2002, but we got married on this day two years ago in our backyard. Wow how the time flies by.

It rained so hard that morning I thought we were going to get washed out for sure, but by noon the rain had stopped and although the sun never fully came out, the skies cleared and our backyard celebration was spared. It was a glorious evening and although lots of things went wrong...hmmm, we ran out of beer within the first two hours (how that happened I still don't understand?!?!), all the battery lanterns that supposedly lasted 24 hours died after 4, the generator ran out of gas and we had a temporary blackout, and I'm sure I could go on but to Kevin and me the day was perfect.
Here we are in the summer of '03 at Highland Lake

and all gussied up at a friends birthday party that fall

and here we are today...

a lot has changed but I love Kevin more than I ever have, Happy Anniversary honey!
We don't have big plans tonight, instead we are going to wait until our trip to Atlanta and Hilton Head at the end of the month and pick a night to go out and have a nice romantic dinner. That way we can take leave Aidan with his grandparents and enjoy the meal instead of wondering if he will make it through dinner without waking up!
I must brag for a minute here and share with you Kevin's birthday dinner last night.

I am not a great cook, I like to dabble and I am an excellent baker but as far as cooking goes I am a step above decent at best. However, last night I took it to a whole new level when I made my first rack of lamb for Kevin's birthday dinner!
I know Kevin loves lamb and his favorite is a lamb shank, but I went to three different stores with Aidan and could not find a shank so instead I made this and he tells me it was excellent! I don't even care for lamb, to be honest it freaks me out since they are such cute little animals I hear bahh bahh'ing sounds in my head when I try to eat it, but Kevin was impressed and that's all that matters.
