Baby Acne!

Today has been a challenging one. I just woke up from a 2 hour nap (Aidan is still sleeping) and I feel even more exhausted than before I fell asleep! Last night was a good night, it's not the lack of sleep as much as the constant feedings, changing clothes, laundry, laundry, laundry. I have never done so much laundry! Aidan has just started spitting up at every feeding and consistently pee'ing every time the diaper comes off. Both scenarios have Kevin and I wishing we had 6 hands every time we burp or change him.

As far as burping goes, I can have 3 burp clothes all laid strategically and if there's half an inch not covered, he'll hit it. He likes to spit up all over his clothes or wait until you think he's finished and then throw a surprise one in there. I am so glad I bought extra burp clothes because I can never have enough it seems. The peeing thing is funny unless you are the one getting the golden shower! For example, this morning at 7 a.m. I hear a loud groan coming from Kevin as he changes Aidan and I chuckled to myself, but it's not so funny two hours later when I turn my head for one second (literally!!!) and feel the familiar sensation of wetness. We cover his little penis but he is a wriggling machine and can squirm his way out of anything. He's a regular Houdini who manages to get an arm free out of every swaddle we've ever done so it's no challenge for him to wriggle his little bottom free of our "pee covers" and the next thing you know your getting soaked!

This morning was particularly fun for me because after he pee'd himself and soaked not only the outfit he was wearing but also the changing pad and the new outfit I was about to change him into, I wrapped him in a blanket to bring him downstairs for a quick sponge bath and as we are walking down the stairs I feel something warm sliding down my leg. You guessed it...he had pooped in the blanket and the whole mess had slid onto me and as I approached the bathroom, WHOOPS, it slid onto the floor. Awesome. I managed to get us both clean, the floor had to wait until later, and got a diaper on faster than I ever have and now I have practically a whole new load of laundry. Unreal!

Aww, but he is so cute it is all worth it. This week he has broken out in a horrible case of "Baby Acne!"

I feel so bad and wish there was something we could do to clear it up but the Dr. assures us it doesn't bother him at all and to do nothing and it will clear up on its own soon. I hope so! Kevin and I joked that this is foreshadowing for his teenage years...both Kevin and I had terrible acne so our child is doomed. Sorry buddy, there may be some "awkward" teenage years to come, but in the end you'll be good looking! This is not a great picture, but look how blue his eyes are alreadySo cute!

These thighs are just so precious! Not to mention the shoes...ridiculous I know, but I got them as a gift and could not resist, they are just so adorable.

Aidan's birth certificate arrived! He's official...
