Kevin and I had an uneventful evening last night. We got home and I was so exhausted I tried to go to sleep at 6:30, but luckily Kevin convinced me to stay awake for a few hours so I wouldn't wake up at 4 a.m. Unfortunately for Kevin I still woke up at 4 a.m. and I tossed and turned enough to wake up Lily and Kevin. It may be time to get one of those big pregnancy pillows! They look a little scary...
but I am constantly uncomfortable all night so it may be the answer. All the books I've read say that once you hit 16 weeks you shouldn't sleep on your back because the weight of the uterus puts pressure on the inferior vena cava reducing the blood flow back to the heart which can make you dizzy and short of breathe and it can reduce the flow of nutrients to the baby. It is recommended to sleep slightly propped up on the left side to release this pressure. I have always slept on my back or my stomach and unfortunately neither of those options are possible now so I've been having a very hard time staying asleep. Anyone that knows me knows how lovely and charming I get when I'm tired...ummm, Not so much! I can be a horror show if I don't get enough sleep so I'm trying to figure out this whole sleeping situation before I drive Kevin out of his mind!
***Bump Watch***
Kevin wanted to take a photo this morning because he said my belly looks especially big in the shirt I have on today. Hmm, I'm not sure how I feel about that comment so this may be the last time I ever wear this shirt.
I made the photos black and white on purpose because I am so pale right now and I had no makeup on in this photo so I didn't want anyone to see how ghostly white I really am. Yeah I'm vain, so what.
The belly is looking quite large for four months, lets just hope the Dr. is right about this one and the growth slows way down until about the 7th month. Otherwise I may be looking like this poor woman come June (with much, much bigger boobs of course!)
WOW, that looks so painful!!! How does she even stay upright? On our way out of the house this morning we encountered a sheet of ice on our front walk. It had rained last night and then the temps dropped suddenly and we have slick roads and walkways today...
