This winter has been hard on us because when it's in the single digits or below freezing there is not much choice but to stay inside with a 6 month old! So, when Kevin had the chance to work last weekend he jumped at the opportunity because the meeting was in Boston. Only 3 hours South of us, Boston enjoys a much milder winter and has lots to do, so we packed up Aidan and headed out of town for the weekend. Now I love hotels in general, but I loved this one even more because Kevin hooked us up with an upgrade to a king suite and because he has so many Marriott points we got to stay on the concierge level and enjoy its many perks. Our floor required a special key to access it on the elevator and I must say that was quite satisfying. I could get use to that kind of special treatment! I could also get used to the free fruit and cookies and drinks available all day in the special lounge on the floor. At night they had appetizers and cocktails and later on desserts and we took full advantage! To say we ate our way through Boston would be an understatement. Here are a few pics of our fun getaway...

Getting sleepy before his nap!

Excited to see Daddy

Columbus Park, as seen from our hotel room

A partial view of the harbor from our room

Going for a walk around Boston. This was the first time Aidan had ridden like a "big boy" in his stroller (not in the car seat attachment) and he LOVED it! It wasn't that cold out, but we bundled him up anyway.

Boston Harbor

In the Italian section of the north end of Boston

Cool buildings and yummy looking restaurants

Paul Revere's house

We walked a little bit of Boston's Freedom trail

Saw the Cheers bar

Kevin wanted a picture with this dude but I can't remember who it is. Something to do with sports...

Aidan loved the stinky horses! They made him laugh

On Sunday we took Aidan swimming at the hotel

He loves the water and is becoming quite a little swimmer. He kicks like a dolphin, it is hilarious to watch!

We finished off the weekend with a trip to the New England Aquarium

Aidan loved the penguins!

The aquarium was kind of old and I wasn't that impressed, I think the Atlanta aquarium is probably so much better, but it didn't matter to Aidan. He loved the colorful fish and he seemed to really enjoy watching them!

The weekend was a really relaxing break from the cold Vermont weather and a nice opportunity to do something new with Aidan. He was so exhausted after the aquarium that he slept the entire 3 hour drive home! That alone was worth the price of admission.
