Our vacation is over and we returned from sunny Atlanta to some chilly weather. We've got the heat cranking and Fall is in full swing. It's been an amazing summer but I'm headed back to work next Tuesday. Wow, these past 12 weeks have flown by. I have enjoyed spending my days with Aidan and I'm not at all ready to give that up but unfortunately the reality is that I need to work and so back I go. Aidan won't know the difference, he loves everybody so strangers holding him at day care won't upset him but I'll probably be an emotional wreck. We are transitioning him, so tomorrow I am taking him to daycare to just hang out for a few hours and meet the women who work with the infants. I plan to feed him there and play with him and just observe. Then on Monday I am dropping him off for a few hours so he can stay there without me and we'll see how he does. I already know he'll do wonderfully but I'm sure I'll be crying as I drive away!
I have no idea how I am going to concentrate at work, I'll miss him terribly, but friends of mine tell me it gets easier and that I may even begin to enjoy the time away, the adult conversation, using my brain again, etc.! We'll see...
We had a wonderful trip to Atlanta and Hilton Head and it was great to have time with our families and visit with friends. I'm going to keep this brief so I can go and play with Aidan, I'm really squeezing every second of fun out of this last week!!! We got a great gift from a family friend, it's a CD and book sing-a-long set and so I've been singing in my terrible, off key voice and clapping my hands and stomping my feet like an idiot to these songs and Aidan gets the biggest kick out of, he thinks it's hysterical. So I'm off to butcher these nursery rhymes, enjoy the photo recap of our vacation.

I am sorry you have to go back to work next week, but I am glad you will be back in the office, I miss having you there!
