In keeping with the Olympic fever that has taken over my house, if filling diapers were a sport, Aidan would be the Michael Phelps of Pooping. He would hold the world record...in fact, he may have it already. I never knew babies would poop this much. Sometimes I take a pic of the really gross ones and send them to Kevin when he's at work (sick I know, but also very funny) but I'll spare you. I just had to throw that out there because I am astounded by the number of dirty diapers this adorable 10 lb. human being creates. Check out the poop face. I mean seriously, even this is so darn cute!
This outfit is a particular favorite of ours! "Running on Natural Gas," so very appropriate.Happy 3 week birthday to Aidan! The time has flown by in a blur of feedings and dirty diapers. Things are slowly getting easier and we're having more good nights than bad now which is encouraging. Last night was another great one, he only woke up at 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., so I feel rested today.
He is starting to fill out more, and get those rolly poly legs and arms, you just want to eat him up!I currently have Lily at home because Kevin has his company's summer picnic today, and this morning I put Aidan in the sling and took him and Lily for a walk. I was proud of myself, it was only a short walk, but it felt good and I'm finally getting stronger and able to do more activity. It's frustrating because I want to be able to do more, but my body is healing a lot slower than I ever anticipated. I have pushed myself a little too far a few times and my body responds with pain which slows me right back down again unfortunately. A few more weeks and I should be back to normal. I'm so ready to work out hard to shed these pounds, but like everything else in my life right now, I have to be patient...
The good thing about Kevin having his company's summer picnic today is that he'll be home by 2:00 and I can't wait! I have not had a chance to shower so I am very much looking forward to his arrival and some relief;)
Yesterday was a busy day because we had to take Aidan to the doctor. His belly button has been oozing and never fully healed and as it turns out he has a small Umbilical Granuloma. Basically it is just a small pink ball of tissue that remained after his cord stump fell off and it's causing his "wound" not to heal properly. The Dr. applied a drying medication called silver nitrate to the tissue and hopefully it should heal soon.
If it is still not dry by Thursday we have to go back for more silver nitrate, but it's very common and not serious. Luckily the belly button was not infected since I had been cleaning it every day, so that was good news. Our Dr. commented again on how "mellow" Aidan is and he was, he lay still and just watched as the Dr. poked and prodded him. Our Doctor is the one on the left, and the new Doctor who applied the Silver Nitrate is new to the practice and I swear he can't be more than 28 years old. I felt so old when he walked in!
That's all for now, Aidan finally fell asleep in his swing so I'm going to take a speed shower before he wakes!
