Aidan loves the bottle!

Monday was the last day of Kevin's "staycation" before returning back to work and we made the most of it. The weather was gorgeous, although unseasonably cool already, so we bundled up Aidan, loaded Lily in the car, and ventured to Stowe for a long walk on the rec path. I love living in a vacation destination because you always see families marveling in the beauty that is Vermont and I get a smug sense of pride knowing that they are just here for a few days but I get to live here all year round and this "vacation" for them is everyday for us! (Somebody please remind me that I wrote this when it's -15 degrees this February and I'm freezing my ass off...thank you!)

Stowe is an especially beautiful town, and the leaves are already starting to turn bright red or orange; it really is a little piece of paradise. Anyway, we took a long lazy stroll, Lily went swimming in the river and Kevin and I plotted our plan to start Aidan on bottles of breast milk so I can have a break once in a while and so eventually we can go out and leave him with a babysitter. We had read and heard from friends that babies can be very slow to take to the bottle and many times reject the artificial nipple so we were prepared with a few different types of bottles and about 6 different nipples just in case. Not our boy!!! We introduced the bottle Monday evening and he loved it! He gulped down the 3 ounces in no time and we were scrambling to get another bottle ready when he let us know he wanted more. Not only did he love the bottle, but he went back to the real thing later that evening with no problem and then last night he took the bottle again with no problem. We are lucky to have such a laid back little guy!!

Kev went back to work and Aidan and I are looking forward to the 3-day holiday weekend so we can have Kevin with us all day again;) Aidan started smiling and he giggles now which is incredibly cute and one of these days I promise to get a video uploaded so everyone can see! For now that's all I've got, but Kevin wanted me to share this pic
We have an abundance of tomatoes in our garden right now. Both cherry and big ones. We had so much rain for so long that they all grew but we had no sun so none of them became ripe until this past week. We welcome any and all recipes that involve tomatoes!
