Saturday afternoon we both took naps and had big plans to go out Saturday night but something about the cold and the rain outside made it hard to motivate. Instead of going to dinner and seeing a band in Burlington, we opted to stay local and grab a late dinner in Waterbury. I'm glad we did because I had terrible pain throughout the entire dinner. The pains were so bad that I'd be in mid sentence and stop and grimace for the 30 seconds or so that it lasted. Luckily it went away and by the time we went to bed the pains had stopped. After doing a little research, Kevin and I think they must have been Braxton Hicks contractions. Although a lot of the research I read on Braxton Hicks say that they are not painful and these were very painful, so we're not entirely sure. I'm not that worried about it since the baby has been extremely active since Saturday night and I am feeling OK now. We have another Dr's appointment this Wednesday morning so I plan to bring it up then. I'm also having some very uncomfortable rib pain and pelvic region pain as well. Not to mention that the wicked heartburn I faced in the first trimester is back with a vengeance! Even water gives me heartburn now. Is this what happens...I hit 30 weeks and start to fall apart? I hope not!
Kevin and I had such a nice time on our "date" Saturday night. We could not recall the last time we had gone out to dinner just the two of us, it had been months! We decided that since we only have 10 (or less!) childless weekends left for the rest of our lives, we better take full advantage and have lots of dates between now and when the baby comes. So yesterday we treated ourselves to a luxuriously long brunch in Montpelier. We chose a restaurant that is known for yummy Sunday brunch buffets and it was wonderful. I normally get skeeved out by buffets and the gluttony, but I have to say that being pregnant is the best time to hit up a good buffet!

We have a busy week planned, I have another Dr.'s visit scheduled for this Wednesday and I hope to find out when my next ultrasound will be. I am measuring a few centimeters bigger than I should be so they want to find out how much this little guy weighs before I go into labor. Lets all hope he's a normal size! I really don't want a super gigantic baby, but since Kevin and I are big people, I'm not delusional and think we're going to have this tiny little thing, I'm sure he will be above average.
Wednesday night we start our child birth class, and we're both really looking forward to that. We also have a few Pediatrician consultations sprinkled in over the new few weeks, so things are gearing up for Baby D's arrival!
We plan to leave work on time today and get home to so some gardening while it's still sunny out so hopefully I can update this blog tomorrow with a few pics of all Kevin's handiwork so far in the garden!
Happy Monday!
