Wow, this has been such a busy week! Kevin and I had a lovely weekend visiting family and friends in Connecticut and New Jersey. I fully intended to write all about it on Monday when I returned to work, but unfortunately I have been going full speed non-stop since I walked in the door and while I am still crazy busy, I finally have found a moment to catch up on the blog! So Friday afternoon we left work a little early, picked up our rented cargo van and drove to Milford, CT to visit our friends Dan and Madeleine and their adorable 8 month old son Morgan. Mads cooked an amazing dinner and we had a great night catching up. The next morning we were pleasantly woken by baby gibberish and we got to spend the morning playing with Morgan and catching a glimpse of what our lives may look like in about a year!! I have to say it was a lot of fun watching Morgan. Not only is he adorable, but he is such a happy baby and smiles and giggles often, especially when Kevin did his Donald Duck voice!
I do have some pictures, but of course I left the camera at home today. Kevin and I were proud of ourselves for remembering the camera, but that soon disappeared as we discovered we forgot the charger. The camera battery quickly died so we only have a few pics which I'll post later. Here's an older pic of Dan and cute little Morgan...

Saturday we hit the road again and put our rented cargo van to good use. We went out and bought a glider and footstool for the baby's nursery. I have to to admit these chairs are not my favorite design wise, but the moment I sat in this chair it was so comfortable I knew it would be perfect for nursing.
We then headed to Monica and Scott's house to visit and pick up all the baby gear they so generously offered us. Thank you so much Monica and Scott!!! I'm not even sure how we can repay the generosity, but we really appreciate everything you do for us and you better take us up on the babysitting offers before Baby Duggan comes along!Kevin loaded the van with the crib, dresser, changing table, bookcase, and all the other odds and ends to make our nursery complete while I played with Will and the new puppy Marley. Monica graciously also gave us tons of beautiful boys clothes so Baby Duggan is going to be a fashion icon straight out of the womb! I have been so busy working late since we've been home that I haven't had a chance to go through everything but I cannot wait until the weekend to dive in and unpack the nursery and start nesting!!! I think I won the sister in law lottery for sure!
After we left Monica and Scott's house we headed to New Jersey to Rob and Rosie's new house. Rob was out of town, but we had a fun night planned anyway hanging out with Rosie, our friends Meredith and Jody and Nate and Andrea! We got to play with Rosie's beautiful daughter Kaitlyn for a while before we all went out to dinner at a great BYOB restaurant in Westfield, NJ. I watched jealously as multiple yummy bottles of wine were devoured! I did have my Saturday night "sippy" as Kevin calls it and the wine was tasty. Fat and happy we left and headed to Rosie's for a late night hang but for me that meant going to bed!
Sunday, Kevin and I did the unthinkable and visited the "Bagel Chateau" in Westfield, NJ.
If you have never been to a bagel bakery in New Jersey on a Sunday morning you have not truly experienced chaos. People in NJ are serious about bagels and as we later learned, this store is only one of 2 in the town so it's extra busy. I almost had a panic attack as I was sandwiched between two fat sweaty men, both eerily resembling Tony Soprano!
The lines were long, people were yelling, hand signals were flying and yet somehow everyone got their order in record time. We took our dozen bagels over to Nate and Andrea's and had a lovely brunch with everyone. We were excited to visit Nate and Andrea and their daughter Georgia and to meet their brand new son, Cooper Liam born 6 weeks ago. He is a cutie and Kevin really enjoyed holding him. Here's a pic of the little guy shortly after he was born
And one with his daddy Nate
I wish I had gotten some pics of the girls, Kaitlyn and Georgia, playing together because that was so darn cute, but of course the dead battery in the camera duped us. I may have been able to squeeze out a photo of Kevin holding Cooper, I'll find out tonight when I load the pics!
We left New Jersey after brunch and started the long trek home with a packed cargo van and made one quick stop at Babies R Us to check out some highchairs. I was so exhausted the idea of shopping was too daunting, and much to Kevin's shock I wanted to leave so we headed home and arrived safely later that evening. Yes, even for me the ulimate shopper, sometimes pregnancy makes me too tired!!
Like I said, it has been a whirlwind week and there's no signs of it slowing down. Tomorrow, Kevin has 4 friends coming to visit for his third annual "Man's weekend!" This is the time when he and his buddy's go snowboarding all day and then eat and drink all night. They may play some air guitar too, who knows, the possibilities are limitless when they get together! Originally there were about 8 guys coming but due to work travel, new babies being born, etc. only 4 of them are able to make it now. I was going to jet away for an exotic spa weekend some where and stay out of their way, but then reality set in so instead I'll be here, but I have promised to lay low and try not to follow them around cleaning up as I go! Instead I plan to spend the weekend going to the gym, seeing a few movies, and basically having some quality "me" time which I am looking forward to! Needless to say, Kevin is very excited to have his friends visit and I'm sure there will be some interesting stories next week!
That's all for now, I'll have more photos to post later and the 22 week pregnancy update soon!
