First of all, Happy 30th Simon!!!
My little brother turned 30 on Saturday and I hope he had a great weekend! I know he got a visit from Mom on Saturday and Daddy on Sunday. I wish I could have been there as well, but I'll get to see you in April, so I'm looking forward to that! I think Simon's favorite birthday gift by far was his new dog!

Well Kevin had his 3rd annual "Man's weekend" and it went off without a hitch and everyone had a good time. The festivities started Thursday evening, and by the time I got home from my yoga class they were in full swing. I said my hellos, grabbed a few slices of pizza and went happily to the bedroom to watch Lost. I did wake up around midnight to a full blown jam session involving multiple drums and guitars coming from the living room, but luckily I was so tired I managed to fall back to sleep with little effort.
Friday I headed off to work and the guys went to Stowe to snowboard and ski (Bujdud!)

They headed back to the house and enjoyed the remaining sunshine by playing a few games of cornhole on the back porch. Kevin got the Christmas tree he had been saving out of the barn and had his huge fire!

Friday night I dropped everyone off at our local bar, Waterbury Wings, and I headed home to enjoy my take out food and catch up on Tivo'd episodes of Oprah. It was the perfect Friday night! The boys walked home around midnight but I was already sound asleep.
Saturday Kevin woke up a scary sight

Yesterday everyone hit the road early to get home and enjoy their Sundays. I went to Burlington to pick up my pregnant friend Kristen and we headed to yoga. I had a wonderful class and felt very strong and energetic! I headed home afterwards, made a healthy salad for Kevin and I, and we spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching movies. It was a glorious end to a fun weekend!
And finally, Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Here's a brief history of St. Patrick's Day to start your Monday out right:

St. Patrick's Day honors St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. We celebrate St. Patrick's Day on March 17. The day is the national holiday of Ireland. It is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland, and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Montserrat, and the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the rest of Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and New Zealand, it is widely celebrated but is not an official holiday. Americans march in parades, dance the Irish jig and gather to sing Irish songs. People wear green in memory of Ireland, the Emerald Isle and wear shamrocks, clover with three leaves. March 17 was not the day St. Patrick was born but the day he died. Even though we don't know the date of his birth, most scholars believe the year was 385 AD and the year of his death was 461 AD.
St. Patrick was born in Wales, studied religion to become a priest and then went to Ireland to teach the people about God. There are many wonderful stories about St. Patrick, some true and some not true. The most famous legend is that he drove the snakes out of Ireland. This did not happen, but the Irish will tell you that you cannot find a snake throughout the whole country of Ireland.
