Ready for vacation!

We have been keeping busy here in Vermont! Things are bustling at both our jobs and life seems to keep moving so fast. Despite the economy, both of our companies are busy and taking on new work so we're doing well for now. My company laid off a handful of people a few weeks ago which was sad because many of them were friends and it was a huge reality check. For now I have my job and I'm hoping, like everyone, that things pick up in the economy. We're headed on a much needed vacation this Saturday to Atlanta and Hilton Head to visit family and I am so ready for a break and some warm weather! We've had chilly temps and tons of snow here and although we're into March, Spring doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon.

Our street... Driving to work...So we're headed South and taking Aidan to see his grandparents and hopefully have some warm, sun filled days at the beach in Hilton Head!

Aidan is 7 months now and doing wonderfully. He crawled for the first time last night and it was very exciting! He was sitting and playing with his toys and all of a sudden he leaned forward, got on his hands and knees, stuck his butt in the air and just started to move. He only made it about a foot before he collapsed but he seemed proud of himself and Kevin and I just sat there watching in shock! It won't be long before he's moving, so we've started thinking about baby proofing the house. When Aidan figures out how to do something, for example rolling over, he wants to do it ALL the time. So I think he'll be testing out his crawling skills in the next week and soon the days of him sitting and playing in one place will be a distant memory! He is a very curious and seemingly smart little boy so I have no doubt I'll be running after him in no time.

Uh oh! He's testing out his legs. He tries to pull himself up on things already and although he can only stand for about 30 seconds, he loves to try.

Here's Aidan grabbing for the camera. It doesn't matter what it is, if you have it, he wants it too!
Aidan also got his third tooth, a top middle tooth and it is big! It may be a while until I can get a photo, right now he is very squirmy when I try to see it and I think it may still be a bit painful. The big tooth next to it is also coming in so he's still drooling constantly and wanting to bite on everything.

He loves teething biscuits! Wow, this is all happening so fast. Aidan is eating all kinds of foods now and especially enjoys anything he can crunch like cheerios. He's feeding himself finger foods and trying to grab the spoon and guide it to his mouth when I feed him. My baby boy is growing up.

In other news, Lily is getting so old. She just turned 11 on February 18th and we celebrated by making turkey burgers and she got her own mini burger complete with a slice of bacon! I would have a picture to show you but she wolfed it down in about 2 seconds! She's been having some health issues, she suffers from terrible arthritis in her hips and she is suddenly totally incontinent. It is both sad and disgusting, especially now that Aidan is starting to crawl and Lily is peeing all over the place! We have her on new medicine which hopefully will cure this and if not she may have to wear diapers. Yep! I hope we can figure out what's going on, we have had some tests done and we're waiting on the results. Poor Lily, she is just as upset about it as I am it seems. We'll keep you posted on her condition. We've hired a house sitter to stay here and take care of her while we're away, so hopefully she'll have a nice restful week and get better soon.

I'm still doing Weight Watchers and so far I've lost 8.5 pounds. I weigh in this Thursday and I'm hoping to make that an even 10! It is a slow process, changing the way you eat rather than dieting, and because of this I am not seeing results as fast as I would like. However, I have no doubt that unlike a fad diet, this lifestyle change will prove more effective and permanent! I think Kevin likes me doing it because I tend to cook a lot more now. I'm trying out new recipes and he's just excited to not have to cook!

Enjoy the pictures of Aidan and next week I will definitely take lots of photos on our vacation and keep you updated on our adventures!

Have a great week!

XOXO
Angela

Classic face right here...
He LOVES stuffed animals

We have been trying out the "sippy" cup, but he hasn't quit figured out what to do with it. He loves chewing on it though!
He absolutely loves his maracas! They play music and talk in English and Spanish. He thinks it's hilarious.

Looking like his Mama!
This is what we wake up to every morning. It's awesome!
Aidan is always so happy when he wakes up.
