It's hard to imagine that this precious baby just caused me so much grief that I was panicking and crying a mere 30 minutes ago. Aidan has been very fussy this afternoon with what I think is gas pains. He pulls his legs into his chest and groans and whimpers and I feel terrible for him but nothing I try helps soothe him. He finally calmed down and I took him to change his diaper before his next feeding and what I found was the fullest, grossest diaper I have ever seen. No wonder he was so fussy, I didn't realize that he was carrying about a pound of poo in his pants, poor thing. Rookie mistake. Anyway, of course the legs start flying and before I know what has happened he has both feet in his poo and then when I wriggle them out and get him cleaned he proceeds to pee all over me, all over himself and soak the changing pad. Oh brother, this is where the water works start... I strip him down, wrap him in the soaked changing pad cover and head downstairs to bathe him and as we're walking down the stairs he poops again. I am now carrying my adorable pee soaked son who has warm shit dripping down his back, through my hands and covering both of us. What can you do but laugh at this point! I somehow managed to function with one hand, set up the baby tub and was able to bathe him and get us both clean. He screamed at the top of his lungs the entire time which broke my heart but once he was clean and wrapped in his hooded towel (a diaper in place to avoid earlier mistake!) he was happy again. I dressed him in the softest, coziest outfit I could find, fed him and now he is sleeping like a little angel.

It's a good thing he's so cute...
