I don't know if I can go 20 more days...

This baby is getting bigger and heavier and I can feel every ounce. He definitely grew and dropped a little bit more this weekend and today at work everyone has commented on how much bigger my belly seems. I know people are excited for me and they mean nothing bad by saying this, but I still want to punch them in the face. That's normal right?

I can feel this big boy growing, and it's getting harder to do things, like walk for instance, or get out of bed every 30 minutes in the night to go to the bathroom. I want to work up until the very end, but each day is more of a challenge than the last so I am just trying not to think about it too much. I found myself looking longingly at a bottle of Castor oil in the grocery store yesterday and I had to talk myself down...only 20 more days!

This weekend was really nice and I'm ready for the next. Driving home on Friday we saw this amazing rainbow and pulled over to snap a photo.
It was huge and I couldn't capture the whole arc, but here's the other side...
Isn't Vermont beautiful?

After that, Kevin and I had a romantic dinner date at our favorite Thai restaurant and I had a super spicy curry hoping it may kick the baby into "exit" mode but unfortunately all it did is make my eyes water and give me heartburn. The waiter thought it was the most hilarious thing ever and kept checking back to see if the baby had enjoyed the spice. I wanted to punch him in the face as well.

Saturday I had a burst of crazy, cleaning energy and I did lots of laundry, vacuumed the entire house, scrubbed the bathrooms, cleaned out the linen closet, changed all the sheets, and basically made sure the house was totally spotless. I don't know what came over me, but by the end of the day I could not even walk. My back hurt so bad I cold barely move, but I felt immense satisfaction knowing the house was clean. I am totally in nesting mania mode and I even had Kevin helping me organize and label things in the closets. Martha Stewart would be proud to peak into any of our closets or drawers right now!

While I worked inside, Kevin took care of the yard and made the outside look amazing. Things are starting to bloom and due to the insane amount of rain we've had, many of our August blooming flowers are already budding! Thank you to my wonderful husband who loves to work outside and refuses to let me hire someone to help him since I'm down for the count. I have no idea what these flowers are called but they have tripled in size in the last 3 weeks.

Our hostas have gotten huge as well.

The yarrow are blooming and growing like weeds!

The broccoli is starting to look edible. I have no idea how big it gets, this is our first time growing broccoli so if you know when to pick this, please email me!

Same goes for the lettuce. The Romaine is huge already!

I am so excited for the tomatoes to ripen, there are so many of them.

Not too shabby for "Flatlanders"...

I love the way petunias grow out of control with little effort. My kind of flower.
All the snap dragons are really colorful and tall. I filled in with annuals this year and they are a nice change of pace from the slow to bloom perennials!

Kevin's tightly cut lawn looks nice in the late afternoon sun.

A mish-mosh of plants and flowers begins to bloom
Even our rose bushes are budding like crazy. We have no idea how to grow roses and never touch these things but they come back each year and look amazing. Maybe one day if I figure out how to care for them they'll look even better, but I don't like getting pricked!

Check out the baby birds that were finally born in the nest on the side of our house. The nest was built last summer and we thought about getting rid of it but the babies were so cute we couldn't, so we left it and sure enough this summer a momma came back, re-built the nest and had more babies! I was scared to get too close because she is always nearby, but the babies peaked their heads out for these pictures!

Saturday night Kevin and I watched "We Own the Night," which was a really intense and well acted film! I loved it. You should rent this movie.

Yesterday we had some rain so we decided to check out Adam Sandler's new movie "Don't Mess with the Zohan." While there were some really funny lines, we left the theater not sure if we liked the movie or if it was the worst thing we've ever seen! It was definitely silly and had some strange cameos by Mariah Carey, Dave Matthews, and others. If you have time to waste and you don't mind leaving the theater with a lower IQ than you go in with, then by all means...check it out!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and thank you everyone for the sweet notes, phone calls and support as we near the end of this wild ride and the beginning of the real life changing one!

I'll keep you posted on any progress, but for now Baby Duggan seems to be chillin' as he gets bigger and stronger. We have another Doctor's appointment this Wednesday which I'm anxiously awaiting. Have a good week!
