TGIF!

Yeah the weekend is here! Kevin worked all last weekend at the U.S. Snowboarding Open so he's been going for 12 days straight and is SO ready for this weekend as well. Unfortunately, even though technically "Spring has arrived," we awoke to snow this morning. Oh my god I may go insane...

Check out this lovely snow pile in front of our barn.If it looks almost as tall as the barn, that's because it is. No trick photography here folks. Lets hope it melts by July!

Here's a smaller yet just as unsightly pile near the house

It's almost hard to believe that in a few months we will be enjoying the most beautiful summer surrounded by lush green grass and gorgeous flowers because right now it looks like this

Thanks Kev for taking those great photos and for always taking Lily out in the morning, especially when it's snowing!!!

Tonight we are going to pick up our friend's golden retriever Josie, to dog sit while they go to Belize. To say I'm jealous would be an understatement, I would really rather be going to Belize right now, but instead we'll be spending the weekend getting Baby Duggan's nursery set up and doing a couples yoga workshop. Not exactly a weekend in a tropical paradise, but I am looking forward to it anyway!

Kevin and I plan to put together the crib, assemble the glider, and hang the window treatments this weekend. These are pretty ambitious goals considering last time we put something together ( a bed frame) it ended in a screaming match and tools may have been thrown...Let's just say neither Kevin nor I are handy, and we don't exactly love following directions so it should be interesting! However since it is a crib for our son, we hopefully will be more patient and review the instructions several times to get them right. Once we have it all put together I'll snap some pics for the blog.

Also this weekend, Kevin and I are taking a pre-natal yoga workshop for couples taught by my current pre-natal yoga teacher and her husband. My teacher is a mother to a toddler and is currently 34 weeks pregnant herself. The workshop is supposed to be a way for Kevin and I to bond in preparation for sharing the birth experience together. We're going to review yoga poses, breath work, relaxation and meditation techniques for pregnancy, labor and birth. There will also be a strong focus on support techniques and ways to build confidence to birth without intervention. I believe when they say "without intervention" they mean "without drugs. " I am not sure I am fully on board with that philosophy and I even would say I am pretty sure I want the drugs, but I am totally planning on going into this birth with an open mind and I'll see how it goes and make decisions in the process. My Doctor is cool with this strategy, so for now the plan is to have no plan, or rather no expectation's, and just be prepared with knowledge and we'll see how it goes. Kevin and I are really looking forward to the workshop and just spending the afternoon with about 40 other pregnant women and their spouses will be a very cool experience!
