A quick but fun trip to Atlanta!

Remember when I used to have long, detailed blogs that were peppered with equal parts of sarcasm and extreme wit. Ha Ha, oblige me here people. Anyway, I remember. Those were the days when I had so much time to indulge in sleep or reading or surfing the web. I took that time for granted and I regret that because I miss that time now. I cannot believe it is already Wednesday and the week is half over! I feel like I am held together by spit and hairspray right now, I am so tired and have so much to do. Where does all my time go? Oh yeah I know...
Isn't he adorable? Caution: Might bite when hungry!

I left work at noon last Friday after a crazed morning of running around and Kevin and I sped to day care to pick up Aidan and sped to the airport to make it in time for my flight to Atlanta. Only in the Burlington, Vermont airport can you show up at 12:50 for a 1:25 flight, check a bag, and make it through security with a baby, a car seat, a stroller, and about 2 or 3 too many carry on bags! It was my first time flying solo with Aidan and I was quite a sight. I may have packed a few too many things, for example every toy Aidan owns, but I wanted to be sure that I was prepared for anything on that flight. Thank you to all the TSA agents at the airport who were so accommodating to us on our travels. It was a far cry from their normally "angry at the world" attitudes I have experienced on previous flights. I had a lovely experience and would be willing to travel with Aidan anywhere, anytime. Although next time I will make sure my carry on bag weighs about 30 lbs less!

Aidan was wonderful on the flight to Atlanta, he slept for half of the flight and played with his toys the rest of the time. The overweight man who was my seat mate and who hogged the armrest the entire flight gave Aidan the giggles as he snored while he slept.

My dad picked us up at the airport and we had an interesting car ride home because Aidan screamed and cried the entire way! It was such a loud, distressing cry and my dad and I were so upset but when we arrived and got Aidan out of his car seat he stopped crying and just grinned from ear to ear and all was well. I guess he just wanted to be held by his Grand Eddie!Notice the spit up! Sorry about that Daddy, what can I say he likes you.

The real reason for the trip was to attend my dear friend Marcy's baby shower. Marcy is due this February and is having a boy as well. Mom, Aidan and I had a lovely time at her baby shower and I am so excited that our sons will be the same age.

It was great to see Courtney again and meet her adorable son Charlie who is 4 weeks older than Aidan. The babies were on their best behavior the entire day!I love this photo of the babies checking each other out.

The rest of the weekend was very relaxing and we spent time at my moms and dads houses just hanging out with family, eating and playing with Aidan. Aidan slept a lot!

Isn't he sweet holding his frog and his clown? Mom asked me not to post this photo because she doesn't like how she looks but I think it is the sweetest picture! Sleepy baby, Sleepy Grandma!

We had a wonderful weekend and the weather was gorgeous with 65 degrees and sunshine the entire time. Aidan and I flew back at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday night and he slept the entire flight and even slept through the drive home and transfer to his crib! Monday was a long day and I was exhausted from the travel but it was worth it to have a great weekend with friends and family. Of course it snowed on Monday After a weekend in sunshine and blue skies it was only fitting that it would snow upon our return home. On the drive to day care...A bundled up baby! This is Aidan's day care.
This week is flying by and I have been crazy busy at work but I will try to post more pictures soon. I have some great shots of Aidan hanging out on his belly. He is sticking his bum in the air and he looks like he wants to crawl! Hopefully that won't happen for a while, I am not prepared for him to be mobile yet!

Have a great week and check back soon for more photos.

XOXO
Angela
