HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEVIN!

Kevin turns 35 today! Unfortunately he had to work, but he had yesterday off so at least it's a short week. I'm preparing a surprise birthday dinner, shhhh. Kevin said that giving him Aidan was enough of a birthday present...isn't that sweet? We celebrated this past weekend and had a blast. Friday night we took Aidan out to his first Mexican restaurant and he was really great. He woke up literally when we got the check, so it was perfect timing. The food was delicious as well, but I learned a valuable lesson: DO NOT eat a vegetarian chimichanga packed with beans, onions, green peppers and cheese ever again while breast feeding. Aidan had the WORST gas the next day and the poor little guy just farted all day long. It was a momentary lapse of judgement and I went back to bland, gas free foods for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday we had our friends Greg and Cristin over for a BBQ. The sunset in our backyard!
We all had a great night maybe too great because Sunday we were exhausted, and maybe a tiny bit hungover. I pumped and dumped for the first time and I felt like a bad mom for having a few glasses of wine but Aidan loves the bottle so he didn't mind and he was so cute and happy Sunday morning, he made us all feel better!

Sunday we motivated to get outside and enjoy the absolutely gorgeous weather and we headed up to visit our friends Justin and Becca in Grand Isle. They have a 3 year old son Cooper who is adorable He had lots of fun with Lily and their dog Josie who is Lily's "best friend."
We had a nice, relaxing afternoon overlooking the lake (Aidan is still way too young for a boat ride)
and we grilled out some steaks, had a leisurely dinner and headed home.

Yesterday was our day to just chill out and do nothing and we took full advantage. Kevin went and played golf, a little birthday treat, while I hung out with Aidan and then we took a long walk and cooked dinner. Not exactly the rock star weekend we enjoyed last year at this time when we were in Maine celebrating Kev's birthday and our anniversary, but it was a wonderful time and a great end to a busy summer!
