Anyway, I think Summer may be officially over but we managed to squeeze every last moment out of it this past weekend with a quick trip to Maine. Our friends Joe and Melissa invited us to visit them at her family's house in York Beach, Maine. It is a beautiful area and one we have been wanting to return to since our trip to a wedding in nearby Ogunquit last Labor Day. We're only 2 hours and 45 minutes away from the coast and Aidan slept the entire drive which was wonderful! Maine reminds me so much of England, I think the beach smells the same as what I remember from visiting Cornwall, England. I love driving around Maine and looking at the beautiful old houses, many of which had been completely renovated in York and were just gorgeous.

We had a lovely day at Short Sands beach and Aidan really enjoyed all the noises.

As for the Lobster, we had a feast on Saturday night. We got TWO 1.5 lb Lobsters each and a pound of clams and Melissa cooked up some corn on the cob, potatoes and tomato, basil and mozzarella salad and we ate our faces off.

We had a great night and Aidan slept for just over 8 hours. All the sea air must have made him tired! Lily was also exhausted after a swim in the cold Atlantic

It was a great weekend and such a nice way to end the summer. Kevin and I are already thinking of renting a cottage in Maine for a week next summer, it's so beautiful there and a great place to vacation.
This week I have a few plans to meet up with girlfriends and walk some of this baby weight off and I'm hoping the weather will cooperate. I was nowhere near ready to get in a swim suit this past weekend but I would have liked to so I need to get my butt moving this week and work off some lbs! Otherwise, this week is looking to be pretty uneventful, just me and Aidan hanging out. He's growing so fast many of his clothes no longer fit and I swear his feet grew overnight. The only socks that fit him now are size 6-12 months so he may have water skis for feet if they keep growing at this rate! Have a great week and I'll try to post more videos later in the week.
