11.7 lbs!

Our Little "Stud Muffin!"

Aidan had his 5 week check up with the pediatrician yesterday and he's doing great! He's gained over 2 lbs in 5 weeks which is terrific and now he's up to 11.7 lbs! That's in the 75th% for his age. He's also grown two inches in length and is now 23" which is in the 90th% for his age so he will probably be a tall boy like his father. Overall it was a very informative visit and the Dr. talked and talked, so long in fact that Kevin had to leave after an hour to attend a meeting. Our pediatrician is a quite loquacious but I adore him and he answered all my questions and thinks we're doing a super job which is reassuring to hear. I need that positive reinforcement because I feel like I'm just doing this on a wing and a prayer with no real clue as to what I'm supposed to do, but Aidan is thriving so we're on the right track!

After the doctor's visit Aidan and I did a little shopping and then we picked up Kevin at work and headed to the Kickball Championship Game. We had a great time and got to visit with lots of friends so that was nice and of course Aidan was a huge hit.
He was a great baby and I am getting lots of use out of my "hooter hider" and I'm getting more comfortable feeding him in public.

Former co-workers of mine, Allan and Jed, sang both the Canadian and American national anthem and then promptly shotgunned a beer! One of my favorite co-workers, Jeff Price, was the co-organizer of this years league
Our friend Rob was the "half time" entertainment, singing an original song he wrote about kickball
Rob's adorable daughter Parker shared her ice cream with Lily who was VERY excited!

The trophy is what it's all about...and the glory of course!
We had a great night but it was a little different from last years championship game when we stayed out until 2 a.m. and partied in the bars downtown after the game. This year we left before sunset, came home and bathed our beautiful boy and rocked him to sleep. As much fun as last year was, I'd never want to go back there. This year was so much more satisfying!

Have a great holiday weekend everyone, Happy Labor Day!
