How can something so small have such bad gas?

We had our first pediatrician's appointment yesterday and Aidan has gained 4 ounces since leaving the hospital! Our doctor was thrilled and says he is doing so well. He has quite a lot of gas, he takes after his father that way, but the Doctor said that is normal since my milk just came in. I am having a surprisingly easy time of breast feeding so far. The Dr. said Aidan is a fantastic latcher! It was awkward and a bit painful at first, but I had such excellent instruction from the lactation consultants at the hospital that I was really lucky to start out doing it right and hopefully this will continue!

Aidan is super alert at night and kind of has his days and nights mixed up but the Dr. said that will get straightened out and hopefully soon he will be sleeping a little bit better. My mom, or Nana Caz, has been so helpful in relieving me after these last few sleepless nights and Aidan loves to snuggle with her. Last night was better than the night before and I actually got a few hours of sleep in 45-minute increments so I feel more human today than yesterday!

Luckily Aidan loves his car seat and riding in the car so Kevin and I took the opportunity to run a few errands yesterday and get some things we discovered we needed. It was nice to get out if only for an hour, and Aidan was a perfect angel the entire time.

Daddy held Aidan after our adventure to the Dr.'s
We took this funny picture of Aidan sleeping in my arms...

Today we are enjoying a beautiful day in Vermont today and this afternoon we may take Aidan for a stroll in the garden. I’d love to take him for a real walk, but I am still in a lot of pain and can still only walk very slowly so I need to stay close to home. We'll have more updates and pics soon.

XOXO
