So tired and it's only Tuesday...

Sorry for the lapse in blog postings, but hot damn I have been BUSY at work! I have been coming in early, leaving late and working at night and I am exhausted. I don't mind being this busy though because it makes the time fly by. I am already 34 1/2 weeks and counting down everyday. A few of my co-workers are taking some well deserved vacation time before I go on maternity leave so between covering for them and business blowing up, I've been swamped and feel like I'm constantly digging out.

However, Kevin and I have made headway on our "to do before baby" check list and we have chosen a pediatrician, reserved a spot in the day care of our choice, completed an infant CPR course, finished the baby's room, and pre-registered at the hospital! So we're well on our way to being ready and if the baby came today we'd be ok! Speaking of baby coming early, the head is down and putting lots of pressure on my pelvis these days. He must be running out of room because his kicks are getting stronger and when he moves now you can just watch him go by looking at my belly ripple and move.

I have discovered that I no longer have ankles...or even anything resembling my former feet. I can't even believe I am posting these pics as they make me want to gag, but my feet are so swollen and painful that I can only squeeze them into one pair of sneakers and I feel like sharing...
As sweet as it is when Kevin says "why don't you just wear my shoes honey," I want to cry. Flips flops work, but having no support makes them worse by the end of the day, so I am resigned to sneakers from here on out. I'm keeping up the pedicure anyway, at least my toes can still look decent. I've consulted every book and thankfully my feet will go back to normal, but for the next 6 weeks or so, I think I am stuck with these elephant trunks! I will not be caught dead in capris, skirts and especially not shorts, so these "fankles" as Kevin so endearingly calls them (fat ankles for you slower folks) will not be exposed to the general public. Consider yourself lucky for even having seen them here;)

Besides the swollen and quite painful feet, I am still feeling good. I've had some false labor contractions and some back pains when I have overdone it in the garden or last weekend when I re-organized all the closets in the house (yes I am crazy...blame the hormones) but otherwise I am hanging tough. We can definitely feel Baby Duggan's head down low near my pelvis and we are pretty sure we can make out his back and feet as well. We have another check up at the Doctor's tomorrow afternoon, so I'll post any updates afterwards.

In other news, Kevin is a genius and fixed Amarilla, I am so proud of him!If you recall, last week the blade broke and Kevin had to finish mowing 2 acres by push mower. Before paying an exorbitant amount of money to the local grease monkeys to fix her, he decided he'd buy the parts, ask a few people how it's done and try it himself. I was nervous, but I left him in the barn to work for over 2 hours and I was pleasantly surprised when he ran inside not to announce he had sliced off a finger as I half expected, but to tell me he had fixed the blade, had changed the oil, put in a new air filter and done something or other with a fuel pump. Yay Kevin! I gave him a cold beer and a kiss and watched him ride around and mow while basking in his glorious accomplishment.

I'll leave you with a cute pic of Kevin and Josie who we are dog sitting for.She is a great dog but she's younger and has a lot more energy than Lily so we have to work hard to tire her out. Here are two very tired dogs after a morning of swimming this past Sunday... They are so cute!

We have the Doctor's visit tomorrow afternoon, a childbirth class on "pain management and your options" tomorrow evening, Kickball this Thursday, and Kevin is playing in a golf tournament Friday afternoon. This week promises to be busy and exciting as always!
