We finally got a break from the rain and the sun is shining, it would be a great day to have a baby! Sorry, but with 18 days left, it is ALL I can think about. I am trying to concentrate on work or other "important" tasks like updating my face book page, but my mind keeps wandering back to this baby and willing him to come out NOW. My friend Kristen who is due this Friday is in labor right now and I am so jealous! She's in agony and I want to be there so badly, how twisted is that? I have never been accused of being patient, that's for sure!Unfortunately I feel nothing new or different and while I am looking forward to this afternoon's Dr. appointment, I am doubting that anything has changed in my dilation or effacement. I want to beg them to strip my membranes or induce me, but I think they will laugh me out of the office and tell me to "enjoy this quiet time before the baby arrives," which is what everyone else is saying.
Kevin is as impatient as I am, so you can imagine the two of us wondering around the house last night with nothing to do, driving ourselves crazy! We ended up pulling out the National Geographic DVD we have called "The Womb." It was fascinating, but within 30 minutes of watching we were both sound asleep! I guess all this impatience has worn us out more than we know.
Remember the birds nest and the baby birds I posted? Well check this out...
I guess one of the babies "flew the coop" and he was perched on our deck furniture for a few minutes last night before flying away. It was pretty cool to watch.
Thank you to Amanda for sending the great photos! My brother Simon and his lovely girlfriend Amanda recently vacationed in Hilton Head and it looks like they had a blast!
Yum, those onion rings look slammin'!
I love this sea turtle you made!
I miss you guys, I hope you can come for a visit and meet the baby this summer!I'll leave you today with a 37 week update. Enjoy, and if there is any baby news, you'll read it here first!
How your baby's growing:
Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still 2 1/2 weeks away.
Your baby weighs about 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel. Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.
