Happy Monday!

Well the weekend flew by and I was so busy all day Friday that I didn't get a chance to blog. I was so consumed with work Friday that I never turned on my cell phone, but I'm glad I finally did because I had the most exciting voicemail. My friend Mary had her baby! Mary was not due until May 11, but early Friday morning she went into labor and a little before 2 :00 p.m. she had a little girl, Leira Trudy Johnson who arrived weighing 5 lbs and 13 oz.Although 4 weeks early, Leira is healthy and doing great!Mary is such a trooper and I got to talk to her a few times this weekend and get the lowdown on the birth experience. Mom, Dad and baby are all doing wonderfully and they got to go home yesterday. After talking with Mary I am so excited to have this baby! Too bad I have three more months to go!

Also last week I promised you the "Melt Watch" finale. Well, I wasn't entirely right but I wasn't wrong either. The snow did melt and the yard is now all exposed except for a tiny strip of stubborn snow that just won't go away! Hopefully with the sunshine and high temps we are supposed to have this entire week, that stubborn snow patch will be gone, the grass will turn green and all will be right with the world again!

So Friday I was so slammed at work all day, I even skipped lunch which is not a good idea when 7 months pregnant! As you can imagine, I was cranky and starving after work and knowing Kevin was hanging out with friends I set out to get us something delicious for dinner. NEVER, I repeat NEVER go to the grocery store when pregnant and hungry. I cannot even tell you what I bought, I was like a ravenous animal walking the aisles and everything looked amazing. I was throwing things in the cart with reckless abandon and some things I would just open and sample right there in the aisle. I was like a kid in a candy store and it was glorious. Finally Kevin called me and asked me where I was, over an hour had passed and I found myself just standing in the ice cream aisle too exhausted to move. Luckily he talked me out, I paid way too much for all the groceries and drove home with bags of food that made no sense. I did manage to get dinner though and we had a yummy meal. I also discovered that I had bought a few boxes of skinny cow ice cream sandwiches and fudge bars. If you have never tasted these delectable treats, do yourself and favor and indulge! The best part is, they are low fat yet still taste amazing. I am now hooked on the fudge bars. They are 100 calories each, 1 gram of fat, 4g of fiber and insanely yummy! I have been having chocolate cravings this entire pregnancy and these are tasty and satisfying yet I don't feel as guilty as I did when I was eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's!

Baby Duggan is doing great and and I am feeling wonderful as well. I am noticing I am getting hungrier lately and I hope that just means baby is growing and putting on weight for his big debut. I go to the Dr. tomorrow for a blood glucose test and then again next week for a check up, but so far week 27 is going smoothly!
