Coldest Leap Day Ever!

Happy Friday everybody! Kevin and I woke up this morning to bitter cold, with the temperature outside reading -17 degrees! It is officially the coldest day of the year so far in Vermont and also the coldest Leap Day ever recorded in Vermont! Most people would bundle up and stay inside on a day like this, but Kevin went to Stowe to go snowboarding!! He had a scheduled ride day with his team from work so he layered up and left at 7:30. Right now the temperature at the base of the Mountain is -6 degrees, so I doubt Kevin is having a great time!

By the time I headed to work this morning, the temp had risen to -11 degrees. I had to take a pic of the digital reading on the console...Does anybody want to come and visit? No? I can't imagine why!

Well Kevin and I don't have big plans for the weekend. Tomorrow we're getting another snowstorm We're the light purple section in the middle and we're expected to get about 4-8 more inches so Kevin will probably go snowboarding and I'll head to the heated indoor pool tomorrow for a little exercise. The cool thing about the pool in Stowe besides the fact that it's always 83 degrees, is the wall of windows surrounding the pool. I can swim in warm water while I watch the snow fall outside on the mountains, it's beautiful!

Tomorrow night we've invited some friends over for dinner but they live about 35 minutes away so if it snows and the roads are bad I don't expect they'll make it. Maybe we'll go see a movie instead, or more likely than not I'll be asleep by 8:30. Another wild Saturday night for the Duggans! Ah, the joys of being pregnant and exhausted all the time!

Sunday Kevin and I have a day planned in Burlington. In the morning I'm going to yoga while he hits the gym to work off his sympathy pregnancy weight gain and then we're headed to a place called Kids Town. Think warehouse full of crap for babies. We plan to check out strollers and car seats and hopefully make some decisions on what we'll need. After that we'll need refueling with a yummy lunch and then it's on to Home Depot! I know, you are saying "Wow, what a fun Sunday!" Believe me, Kevin is not at all excited about shopping all day and even I am kind of dreading it, but we have to pick out baby gear and fix up the house sometime so why not start on a cold, snowy Sunday.

I'll leave you with our forecast for the next few days. This is the time of year that Vermonters start to question why we choose to live in such a cold place! It is beautiful, but Spring cannot get here soon enough!
